
The Ministers for Foreign Affairs of Council of Europe member states hold the Chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers, the executive body of the Council of Europe, on a rotating basis in alphabetical order, for a six-month term.
The Chairmanship of the Council of Europe’s Committee of Ministers was transferred from the Republic of Serbia to Slovakia at a special meeting of the Ministers’ Deputies of the 47 member States in Strasbourg on 12 November.
The first part of the meeting was chaired by Vuk Jeremić, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, who took stock of Serbia’s six-month Chairmanship. Ján Kubiš, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Slovakia, took over the chairmanship and presented his country’s priorities for the next six months.
