The Venice Commission will organise a conference on the European Electoral Heritage.

2-6 July, Strasbourg
The Council of Europe’s Committee of Experts on the Evaluation of Anti-Money Laundering Measures and the Financing of Terrorism (MONEYVAL) will hold a plenary session and adopt mutual evaluation reports on Georgia, the Holy See and Latvia, and consider a follow up report on the Czech Republic.

Council of Europe Secretary General Thorbjørn Jagland will have an exchange of views with the Political and Security Committee of the European Union.

3 July, Strasbourg
The European Court of Human Rights will notify in writing 18 judgments concerning Austria, Bulgaria, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Latvia, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Spain and Turkey.

5-6 July, Monaco
PACE President Jean-Claude Mignon, will give an address at the  annual session of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe’s Parliamentary Assembly (OSCE), the theme of which is “The OSCE: Region of Change”.  On 6 July, he will take part in the 2012 Mediterranean Forum focusing on “The OSCE Mediterranean partnership in a changing region: the impact of elections since the events of 2011”.

6 July, Vannes (France)
The meeting of Monitoring Committee of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities (Congress) will occur in the framework of the 30th Anniversary of the French decentralisation laws.

6 July, Brussels
Tineke Strik (Netherlands, SOC) will present her report “Lives lost in the Mediterranean Sea: who is responsible?” at a seminar organised by the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS).

6-7 July, Tetouan (Morocco)
The Council of Europe North-South Centre and the “Voix de femmes” Festival, in cooperation with the Women´s Tribune association, are organising a conference on “The gender approach in the development of women in the Mediterranean”. PACE member Carmen Quintanilla Barba (Spain, EPP/CD) will participate in the opening session of the conference, which is sponsored by the Alliance of Civilisations and the Union for the Mediterranean.

Council of Europe Media Against Racism in Sport group (MARS) will organise a national media encounter.

The Council of Europe fund for the co-production, distribution and exhibition of European cinematographic works (Eurimages) will participate in the Sarajevo Film Festival and will present Eurimages Co-production Development Award.

8-12 July, Brussels
Patrick Moriau (Belgium, SOC) will attend the 38th session of the Parliamentary Assembly of La Francophonie.

9 July, Strasbourg
Council of Europe Deputy Secretary General Maud de Boer-Buquicchio will attend Journées Strasbourgeoises 2012, organised by the Canadian Institute for Advanced Legal Studies. She will deliver a speech at the opening of the conference entitled «  Movement of ideas, people, goods ».

9-10 July, Batumi (Georgia)
The Council of Europe will organise a regional seminar in promotion of its Convention on combating violence against women (Istanbul Convention).
A press conference will take place on 9 July at 10:15 am (Sheraton Hotel).

12 July, Yerevan
Council of Europe launches Action Plan for Armenia 2012-2014
The three-year action plan to support Armenia’s agenda for reform will focus action on effective implementation of the European Convention on Human Rights, strong democratic institutions and procedures at national, regional and local level, and better participation of key social and civil actors in public decision-making process.
Minister for Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Edward Nalbandian and the Director General of Programmes and Deputy Secretary General elect of the Council of Europe, Gabriella Battaini-Dragoni, will present the action plan.
