Discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation

[27/01/2010] On 27 January the Assembly held its debate on discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity but, at the rapporteur's suggestion, voted in favour of referring the text back to the committee concerned. Andreas Gross (Switzerland, SOC), explained that so many amendments (80) had been tabled that the Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights had yet not been able to decide on the majority of them. For that reason, he proposed that the Assembly hold an initial debate today and vote on the text at the next plenary session (26-30 April).  (Suite...)
