The United States takes part:

• as an observer, in the European Commission for Democracy through Law (Venice Commission) since 10 October 1991
• as an observer, in the European Pharmacopoeia Commission (EDQM) since 26 July 2004
• as a full member, in the Group of States against Corruption (GRECO) since 20 septembre 2000.

The United States co-operates on an ad hoc basis with the Pompidou Group to Combat Drug Abuse and Illict Trafficking in Drugs.

The United States has observer status with:

• the Committee of Experts on the Evaluation of Anti-Money Laundering Measures and the Financing of Terrorism (MONEYVAL)
• the European Steering Committee for Youth (CDEJ)
• the Committee of Legal Advisers on Public International Law (CAHDI).

The United States is observer to the meetings of the Committee of Experts on the Operation of European Conventions on Co-Operation in Criminal Matters (PC-OC) and of the Steering Committee on Bioethics (CDBI). The American Bar Association - Rule of Law initiative is observer to the European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ).
